5 Things That Some Bloggers Dislike

5 Things That Some Bloggers Dislike

Since we bloggers are, of course, human beings, it would be logical for me to state that there are things that we dislike.

Ah, I have certainly piqued your interest with this one.

So, without further ado, it is time for me to discuss some of the things that we bloggers dislike.

1.) Being Interrupted While They Are Writing A Blog Post

Yes, it should not come as a surprise to you, that there are bloggers who hate to be interrupted while they are writing a blog post.

Some people will lose their train of thought whenever someone walks into the room where they are writing their blog post and start talking to them (And, that has the potential of sending the person who is doing the writing crazy).

If you write your blog posts at home, there will be those moments when you are going to be interrupted by someone (Especially if you have a spouse and kids).

For that very reason, you could put your blog posts together when everyone else is asleep; which might be late at night or early in the morning.

There is also the option of asking your beloved family members not to disturb you while you are writing (But, good luck with that one; you will be disturbed if everyone is accustomed to checking in on each other to make sure that everything is okay with everyone in the family).

2.) A Slow Internet Connection

A slow internet connection will drive anyone crazy.

Imagine waiting for a very long time for your page to load and everything else takes five times longer than usual.

Despite having high-speed internet, that has happened to me occasionally.

The most that anyone can do when their internet speed has dropped to an excruciatingly slow crawl, is to work slowly (Slow internet is better than no internet).

3.) When They Are Followed By A Bussiness Blogger

My friend, John, a pleasant and mild-mannered photography blogger, hates it whenever a business blogger follows him.

What does he do whenever he noticed that he has been followed by a business blogger?

He removes them from his list of followers.

Some of you are probably surprised; you did not even know that it was possible to remove someone from your list of followers.

The article, My Followers by the folks over at the WordPress Support Team teaches you everything that you need to know about followers.

Now, where I am concerned, I do not remove business bloggers; once they behave themselves (not spamming my comments thread with their blog’s URL and their services), I will keep them.

The God’s/Goddess’s truth is that many of these business bloggers are useless followers; they seldom interact with the blogs that they are following (And, because of this, I can see the reason why my friend, John, is not too keen on having business bloggers following his blog).

4.) Encountering Technical Difficulties

Unfortunately, WordPress is not perfect.

Therefore, there will be those rare moments when you will have a horrible time on your blog whenever the Happiness Engineers are performing routine maintenance on WordPress.

I can visualize steam coming out of both ears from a blogger; especially someone who is trying to write a blog post during the same period that WordPress is undergoing technical difficulties.

On a positive note, technical difficulties do not last long forever.

5.) Not Being Able To Log Into WordPress

I believe that any blogger would be pissed off if they were unable to log into their WordPress account.

Unfortunately, there are those who have a very hard time logging into their WordPress account via:

  • The web version of WordPress (Which is accessing WordPress via a web browser).
  • The WordPress mobile app.
  • The Jetpack mobile app.

Luckily for me, the last time that I was unable to log into my WordPress account was back in 2012 (And, that was due to the Happiness Engineers performing their routine maintenance on WordPress).

Final Thoughts

Those things that we dislike are temporary obstacles; those annoyances do not last forever.

Also, the types of things that bloggers dislike will, of course, vary from person to person.

Can you relate to any of the things on my list?

And, what are some of the blogging-related things that you dislike?

  1. The thing I dislike the most
Is random liking on multiple blogs.

    1. 🙂 I believe that you are referring to people pressing the “Like” button on numerous posts in a ridiculously short space of time. Am I right?

      1. Yeah!!

People generally like 10 blogs in 2 secs.
Then they comment on one, pretending as if they’ve read it

I dont remove business blogs unless they spam. As some of my posts could be of interest to businesses. I have business followers who have never spammed.

I’d say my pet hate right now is typing on the wp site – not jetpack – and aitosave gets stuck and I can’t cancel it. Unless I save all blocks and transfer to a new post, I lose everything.

  13. Interesting post, Renard.

Most of those items aren’t issues for me to get concerned about. I’m rarely interrupted when composing a blog post, given the fact that I write very early in the morning before my spouse is awake.

I guess over the years, there may have been instances when technical issues popped up. But they would be few and far between.

We’ve always had really fast internet speed with generally super connectivity, so as long as WordPress isn’t having issues, I’ve always been able to connect quickly with no lag time when writing a post.

  14. Terrific and great blog post Renard. I agree these five things here are what bloggers dislike and it is true. I have experienced all five of these catastrophes and they piss me off actually.

The first one is is deal breaker because when you get interrupted you are unable to finish the blog post and the second one also drives you nuts and it makes you to push the blog on the wayside and do something else. Moreover, poor internet connection and the technical issues of WordPress like freezing is problematic to us bloggers who are devoted to blogging💯💯🙌

  18. Feeling a itty-bitty uneasiness about liking a lot of blogs in a short time . Your post is valuable insight and facts. In between writing my own blog , taking care of my family and trying to find the posts I like, I do press that star for a lot of posts in the shortest time, I can. I do have a business blog, just because I love the themes and plugins that come with it. I hope I don’t look spammy doing that. It’s getting incredibly hard finding good blogs and things to read because of promoted feeds. But I am just glad I found your post to read while waiting for my big batch of chickpea flour naan to finish cooking.

I agree with all these annoyances, Renard. I am lucky to have fast internet and interruptions come and go. I try to write during quiet times so as to avoid the hoopla but not always successful. My biggest pet peeves are links left in my comment section and spam. I recently changed my settings which seemed to help the spam situation.

    1. 🙂 Thank you, Eugenia.

One could have the fastest high-speed internet and on rare occasions experience slow speeds.

Writing at quiet times is a very wise thing to do, my friend.

Also, it is nice to know that changing your settings has helped with your spam situation.

  21. Great post Renard!
I am with John about “Business Bloggers”….it is like why are you even bothering? I have nothing to offer them.
And the other group that ‘bug’ me are “Wellness Writer’s”. It is like they are trolling for new clients. I have NO desire to discuss my personal issues on line with a Stranger.
Other than that, I am a ‘happy camper’!

  25. I had a period of time when I couldn’t log in because I used my old work email and I couldn’t find my credit card statement and lost my blog for about 6 months. It was super frustrating trying to get it back. I lost a lot of momentum that has been really hard to get back.
