On numerous occasions, I have mentioned that I have been blogging since 2008. Therefore, blogging has become an integral part of my life (I cannot imagine not doing it).
To put it plainly, I love blogging.
And, I know for a fact that many of you out there in the blogosphere love blogging as well.
So today, I am going to tell you some reasons why it would be weird for me to not have a blog.
Having A Blog Allows Me To Showcase My Writing
Those of you who follow my blog β Renard’s World, already know that I love to write.
And, those of you who are visiting this blog for the first time would pick up the vibe pertaining to my deep passion for writing.
The truth is that I would always find an excuse to write; whether it be in the form of:
- A shopping list.
- Adding a sentence about well-wishes along with my signature on a birthday card.
- An outline of a blog post using an actual pen and paper.
- An article via LibreOffice Writer on my laptop computer.
- A blog post.
Writing is part of my psychological makeup.
So, showcasing my writing via my blog seems like a very natural and appropriate thing for me to do.
Blogging Allows Me To Pass On My Knowledge To Others
I do enjoy passing on what I have learned; whether it be:
- Blogging advice.
- Health-related information.
- Linux-related information.
I genuinely believe that knowledge was meant to be passed on to others and not hoarded.
And, having a blog of my own, grants me the opportunity to pass on knowledge to others.
Blogging Is Therapeutic
If I am stressed out or pissed about something, I can use my blog to vent (Despite my venting coming across in a highly diplomatic manner).
Other bloggers are in the habit of using their blogs to vent (The only difference is that their venting is more in the form of an angry rant).
Blogging is indeed therapeutic and you do not have to pay a psychiatrist an hourly fee in order for him or her to listen to you talk about what it is that is bothering you (In other words, you can vent for free on your blog).
Blogging, on the whole, probably helps many bloggers around the world to maintain their sanity.
For Me, Blogging Is More Entertaining Than Watching A Movie
Believe it or not, I actually view blogging as being more entertaining than watching a movie.
Now, do not get me wrong, I do enjoy watching a movie every now and then; however, if I was forced into choosing between writing a blog post or watching a movie, I would go for writing a blog post.
The biggest irony is that while I am entertaining you with my blog posts, I am entertaining myself by putting the blog posts together.
Final Thoughts
Blogging is beautiful and I find it very hard for me to fathom not having a blog.
Once you are bitten by the blogging bug, you will find yourself creating blog posts until you can no longer blog (And, that would be the day when the Angel of Death comes to take you to the Spiritual Realm).
Ditto π And we’re enjoying reading your posts. Hopefully you’ll be with us still for a long time Renard.

I do agree with many of those sentiments Renard. Your posts are always great quality and very informative, and I am hugely grateful you have stuck with WordPress.

Very good blog here Renard. I too can’t imagine a my world without blogging, it has really grown on me and I enjoy blogging since I started in 2020. I just found my passion for men’s fashion & style and every week I write down interesting content with the intention of sharing my thoughts on clothes and helping more men dress betterππ

I adore blogging, yes… I do get a little restless at times when I get a burnout or a writer’s block. But… its best to rest a few hours and come back to it again later on.
But to not have a blog? After…. blogging for months now… Yup, I don’t think I can live without it

My question is how do you not run out of storage with a .WordPress plan? Especially since youβve been blogging since 2008? Iβm impressed that you havenβt run out of GB storage yet.

π I will be happy to answer that for you, Hilary.
First, I will resize the photo (Doing that decreases the number of megabytes).
Then, I will go a step further by compressing the photo (Which decreases the number of megabytes even further).
And, after I have done those two things, I will upload the photo to my blog.
So far, I have only used up .5GB of my 3GB storage.

Thanks for answering my question, Renard. Wow, thatβs very impressive. It looks like you wonβt be running out of space any time soon! π

π By the way, I would like to state for the record that despite being a blogger since 2008, this blog has only been around since 2018.

Oh I see. Similarly, I started my blog in April 2016 but didnβt do anything with it until 2019.

π€ My case is different from yours. I used to blog over on Blogger before I made WordPress my home for blogging (I have been busy blogging all that time).

2008 was the year I started blogging. That was when I was a deaf blogger. Started out on Blogger before going to WordPress soon after. That blog was going for some years and while that was running, I also had another one of a different nature, but my deaf blog continued until it ended because of the negativity I felt my blog and about deafness was giving me. So I wanted to leave all that deaf stuff behind.
That’s when My Wellbeing and Learning Journey started and continued for some years until I left WordPress for Blogger again with my current blog.
Never would I thought I be a blogger all these years. I don’t want it to end, but if Blogger came to an end then my blogging days would probably be over..

π You certainly had a fascinating blogging journey, Liz.
Blogs came and blogs went.
I do not think you have anything to worry about, my friend.
If Google wanted to cancel Blogger, they would have done so a long time ago.

Yes, I have seen many blogs come and go and sadly one who was a good friend had disappeared after years knowing her. She was moving areas and was either not having internet, or internet wasn’t good. But I think she was not bothering with internet. She was much older. Her health not good and she was moving for health reasons. It’s some years ago.
Others that have gone were thise type that didn’t give their blogs long enough to establish.
My blogging journey has certainly been an interesting one. Whether via my own blogs, or meeting other bloggers. It’s been mostly a positive experience. π

I’ve never thought about it but, yes, not having a blog would be weird. It’s what I spend 75% of my online time with. Not on the blog directly, but scrambling for info and making photos and getting ideas while living life.
And here is my super duper pro tip for all aspiring bloggers: ALWAYS HAVE A DIGICAM (COOL) OR A SMARTPHONE (OK-ISH) ON YOU AND BE READY TO SNAP AT ANY TIME!

π That is a wonderful tip for aspiring bloggers, Orca.

I think it would depend on which particular movie you had in mind. π
Have you any ambition for your writing, Renard? Sorry, possibly you have another writing project elsewhere that I donβt know about. I feel the worst thing is to be complacent.
