Mission Accomplished!

Mission Accomplished!

Hurray! I am proud to admit to you that I have managed to complete the 31-day blogging challenge for the month of August.

To be quite honest, I had faith in myself; I knew that I would have performed well in this blogging challenge.

The God’s/Goddess’ truth is that I am no newcomer to writing and publishing blog posts on a daily basis.

Back in 2008, I used to publish blog posts daily on my blog on Blogger.

When I created Renard’s World back in 2018, I went along with a daily publishing rhythm.

Later on, I discontinued the practice of posting daily because I found out that there were those who felt overwhelmed whenever a blogger published content on their blog every single day of the week.

The decision to publish weekly was more of a move to not infuriate anyone by filling up their email inbox with notifications of my latest blog posts.

The biggest irony of all is that there are those people who do not mind seeing a brand new blog post from me on a daily basis.

In all honesty, there is no way on God’s green Earth that I can please everyone (Which was why I decided to do my own thing).

Hey, this is my blog; which means, I have the right to post as often (or not as often) as I want.

There Was a Part Of Me That Was Itching To Publish Posts Daily

I was contemplating on posting daily before the 31-day August blogging challenge had started.

A part of me felt that I had wilfully silenced my creativity by agreeing to publish content on my blog on a weekly basis.

Whenever I felt that I could no longer endure the self-imposed punishment of posting weekly, I would add a bonus blog post (or blog posts) to the mix; so instead of publishing one blog post weekly, I turned up the proverbial notch by posting twice or three times a week.

So, when I heard about the 31-day blogging challenge in August, I thought to myself, “I have got to be a part of that.”

There was no way that I was going to let all of the Blaugust (which is a playfully shortened version of the words “Blogging” and “August”) participants have all of the fun on their own; I had to take part in the 31-day August blogging challenge.

I Felt As Though I Was Playing An Interesting Mind Game With Myself

The writing was the easy part.

The only challenging aspect of the 31-day blogging challenge in August was when I had to create content for my blog when I was sleepy or when the temperatures were high.

During the time when I published content on my blog weekly, I would sleep whenever I was tired and when the temperature was high I would wait until the temperature had dropped to work on a blog post (Time was on my side; all I had to do back then was to ensure that I had a blog post ready before the week was up).

I remembered being nudged by my subconscious mind to wake up and write a blog post while I was taking a short nap; it wanted me to be successful at completing every blog post for the 31-day August blogging challenge (That was the same day I had published, I Dreamt About WordPress, on my blog).

I was also deeply determined to do my utmost best in the area of creating content for Renard’s World.

I also filled my mind with positive thoughts and I said positive affirmations daily (All of which worked in my favour).

No negative thoughts like, “You are going to fail at this,” or “You are going to hate the experience of blogging every day for the month of August,” ever crept into my mind.

The Trick Is To Choose A Topic And Work On It Immediately

The God’s/Goddess’ truth is that most people waste a lot of time when they try to come up with a topic for their blog post (They do not have the luxury of utilizing an entire day for coming up with one topic).

Therefore, they should spend no more than five minutes of their time finalizing a topic.

After they have chosen their topic, they should work on it right away.

Dear friend, it is all about time management; using the time that is currently available to you wisely.

After all, I had volunteered to compose a blog post from scratch and publish it on the same day (And I had to do that 31 times for the month of August).

Will I Continue To Publish Content On My Blog Daily?

At the moment, it is somewhat difficult for me to say whether or not I will continue to publish content on my blog daily.

What I can assure you of is that I will be taking it one day at a time (And that could lead to my blog being filled with blog posts on a daily basis).

For the record, I am in no way obligated to publish blog posts every day for the month of September.

Final Thoughts

I truly enjoyed participating in the 31-day August blogging challenge.

I also look forward to participating in it the following year.

I would also like to leave you with the thought that you can accomplish anything that you have set out your mind to do and that your best companions accompanying you on that journey are:

  • Belief
  • Discipline
  • Determination
  • Imagination

Those friends are worthy of being cherished.

The month of August has been good to me.

Peace, love and light!

  1. I’m glad you were able to complete the challenge; however, I hope that not all bloggers will decide to post on a daily basis. I think their level of quality would be diminished and my inbox would so full, I would have trouble picking which blogs to read, as there would not be time for reading all of them.

You really have your work cut out for you (Now, I am not saying that to scare you; I am merely stating a fact).

  2. Congratulations, Renard! And I must commend you for the quality of your work. Blogging every day is a feat to be reckoned with, IMO. Every post you published was informative, interesting, and well-written. Excellent job, my friend.

  3. Congrats on completing the daily challenge. I wasn’t fully aware of your challenge but I was impressed to see your daily blogs thinking β€œhow does this guy have the energy to blog daily.” Answer: it is easy when you enjoy it and have the positive mindset and discipline you set up. Thanks for the encouragement as I took two months off from blogging but you inspired me among others to get back to it. Appreciate your blogs even about aliens haha

  4. Wow, congratulations. I posted everyday last year just as a challenge to myself and it was fun but also exhausting. It has its pros and cons. These days I post 5/6 times a week.

    1. πŸ™‚ Thank you, Pooja G.

Challenges are good. They let us know what we are capable of.

Writing every day might leave you feeling a bit exhausted, but it is all worth it.

Posting 5 to 6 days a week is feasible.

Thank you for reading and commenting!

  5. I am one of the ones that does Blaugust, and this year and a while back I didn’t follow the guidelines so to speak. I just posted what I wanted to post for 31 days. Some days it was about video games, Some days it was an insight to my Real Life. Just Real Life Collided and didn’t fall into the topic of that week.
