Blogging Is Not That Difficult To Do

Blogging Is Not That Difficult To Do

It is no huge secret, that there are some people who have a very hard time creating blog posts.

And, it is also a well-known fact, that there are people who create blog posts with ease.

What is the major difference between the two sets of people?

Experience, of course!

If a person has been blogging for several years, they would certainly have an advantage over the person who started blogging recently.

So, the more that you do something (which in this case is blogging), is the better you get at it.

So, is blogging really difficult or not?

Small Baby Steps Are Required

If writing articles is one of your weaknesses, I do not expect you to go out of your way to create long-form content (That would be utter madness).

The wise thing to do is to start off with short-form content.

By the way, it is not mandatory for bloggers to create long-form content (That is something that those of us who are really great writers do or those of us who optimize our blog posts for SEO do).

Trying to write long-form content when you can barely write short-form content is akin to trying to run a marathon when you are fully aware of the fact that you can barely run half of a mile (You will end up failing miserably).

So, do you see the importance of taking small baby steps?

Blog About The Things That You Know Well

The God’s/Goddess’s truth is that creating blog posts based on things that we know well would be easy for us to do.

And, why is that so?

Because we know those things from the inside out.

People inadvertently make blogging difficult for themselves by writing about things that they are barely knowledgeable of.

Dear friend, it makes no sense writing a blog post about a kite if you have never held one in your hand, you do not know how to make one or you have never flown one.

Do you see what I am getting at?

People can make blogging easier for themselves by basing their content on things that they know well.

Plan Your Topics In Advance

One of the worst things that can happen to a newcomer to blogging is not knowing what they are going to blog about.

Also, when they have no idea of what it is that they are going to write, they find themselves being intimidated by a blank screen.

Therefore, if they know what their topic is based on, they can begin working on the draft copy of their blog post right away.

So, when it comes to blogging, planning topics in advance helps a lot.

Do Your Research Separately

Yes, my friend, you should do your research separately.

And, why is it that you should do your research separately?

Because you will be able to complete those blog posts of yours at a much faster rate.

The mistake that a lot of bloggers make is doing the research for their blog posts while they are writing them.

Okay, I will admit that it works to a certain extent, but it is a time-waster.

The funny thing is that a lot of bloggers have complained about not having the time available to them to create blog posts.

Eating Well Is A Requirement

You are probably thinking, “What does eating well have to do with making blogging easier?”

My answer to that question is “It means everything!”

The food we eat is what fuels our bodies.

Also, our brains burn calories by doing something as simple as thinking (If that statement sounded funny or unbelievable, I would like you to read, Emma Bryce’s article, How Many Calories Can the Brain Burn by Thinking?, to gain a better understanding).

I would also like to recommend that you consume foods that will help you to focus better; they are:

  • Leafy green vegetables
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Mushrooms
  • Hemp seeds
  • Bananas
  • Almonds
  • Cacao
  • Spirulina
  • Chia seeds
  • Avocado
  • Blueberries
  • Walnuts
  • Rosemary
  • Tomatoes

Mother nature provided us with a lot of healthy food (Especially the kind that helps us to boost our focus).

Dear friend, if you have trouble concentrating, there is a very high probability that you are going to have trouble putting your blog posts together.

Sleeping Well Is A Requirement

Do you know that lack of sleep is going to affect your learning and memory?

Yes, my friend, it is a fact!

I would like you to have a look at Sleep, Learning, and Memory, from the folks over at the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Hey, if you are missing out on sleep, you run the risk of doing poorly at blogging.

So, never take sleep for granted.

Keep Practicing Your Craft

The best way of getting better at blogging is to practice it regularly (I have been doing this sort of thing since 2008; so I have had lots of practice where blogging is concerned).

My article, It All Begins With Practice, goes into full detail on how to go about practicing blogging.

Have you been practicing your blogging lately?

Reading A Lot Is A Requirement

It should not come as a surprise to you, that if you want to be a great writer or blogger, you will have to engage yourself in lots of reading.

Dear friend, you can acquire lots of information simply by:

  • Reading books.
  • Reading magazines.
  • Reading newspapers.
  • Reading pamphlets.
  • Reading blog posts.

So, never take reading for granted.

Do you read a lot?

The Bottom Line

The truth is that blogging does not need to be difficult; you can make it easy by doing the following things:

  • Taking small baby steps when it comes to writing blog posts.
  • Making it a priority of yours to blog about the things that you know well.
  • Planning your topics in advance.
  • Doing your research separately.
  • Making a conscientious effort to eat well.
  • Seeing to it that you sleep well.
  • Constantly practicing your craft (Which is blogging).
  • Reading a lot.

Please feel free to discuss what you have read.

I also ask you to show this blog post a bit of love by sharing it on one or more of your social media networks.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to having you here again at Renard’s World.

    1. 😯 Ouch! The very thought of bleeding might scare some bloggers.

I understand the meaning of that quotation and I am in full agreement with your statement, Orca.

Thank you for participating in the discussion.

    1. 🙂 If you want to deal with a niche, base it on a topic that you are very good at.

Personal bloggers have the privilege of publishing miscellaneous content on their blogs.

Blogging might be hard for you now, but it will get easier for you as time goes along.

  1. I think your tips are great. I totally love the nutrition section.

I write both long and short form. I have been blogging for 6 years, so one can say I am experienced! But, I am having a serious blogging block since April thus year. I am not posting regularly, struggling. Is it a blogging midlife crisis -I jest! I think parts of my life are out of alignment and it is impacting me and what to write, and time.

    1. 🤔 I usually do not critique other people’s blog posts. However, since you requested feedback, I would like to suggest that you proofread your blog posts before publishing them.

Do enjoy the rest of your day/night.

  2. More invaluable tips for the virgin blogger. The more one blogs the more one becomes experienced at discovering what works for one. It’s a long journey, filled with many bumps and tumbles, but well worth the trip. Thanks Renard. have a great day My Friend.

  3. Another post that feels like it was written especially for me. I did start short term at first in the most basic sense. Doing it more perfected my craft until I was comfortable writing long term. Movies are something I’m very knowledgeable of. Enough to plan them in advance and research before I review. Unfortunately I don’t always eat or sleep as often as I should. So I guess I should work on that. Thanks for the reminder.

  5. I would add exercise into this mix, Renard. I always find my brain works better when I have had a good workout. I sometimes take my poems for a walk. Some great tips here as always.
