These 10 Things Will Help Bloggers To Remain Motivated In 2022

There is nothing quite as sad as a blogger who has lost their way due to lack of motivation.

Unmotivated bloggers are known to:

  • Blog sporadically.
  • Take their blogs for granted.
  • Delete those blogs of theirs.

Dear friend, one of the best ways of keeping your blog active is to remain motivated (And, today, I am going to tell you how you can make that possible).

1.) Getting Lots Of Rest

Some of you are probably thinking, “What does getting lots of rest have to do with remaining motivated?”

My answer to that question is “A lot!”

People who are well-rested do not suffer from severe burnout!

Also, an extremely tired person will not have blogging high on their list of priorities.

Therefore, getting lots of rest will work out in your favour.

It is no huge secret that you can think clearly for long periods of time when you are mentally refreshed (And, that is one of the reasons why some bloggers create the draft copies for their blog posts first thing in the morning).

One should never underestimate the power that a well-rested mind has.

2.) Publishing The Types Of Blog Posts That Excites Them

Another great way to remain motivated as a blogger is to publish the types of blog posts that excite you.

There is a very high probability of you putting together a blog post that you are highly excited about with ease.

Whereas, you would struggle like hell to put a blog post together that is based on something that you are not genuinely interested in.

So, if you have chosen a niche for your blog, be one hundred percent sure that it is one that excites every atom of your being (The same thing applies to bloggers who have chosen to go the miscellaneous route on their blogs).

3.) Celebrating Small Wins

Celebrating small wins is a fantastic way to remain motivated as a blogger.

Celebrating a small win is easy; all you have to do is:

  • Celebrate whenever you have received incoming views to your blog (Whether it is a small or a large number).
  • Celebrate whenever your blog receives comments in its commenting section.
  • Celebrate whenever someone subscribes to your blog.

Hey, you might as well celebrate because the things that I have mentioned above are all indicators of your blog’s growth.

4.) Reading An Inspirational Blog Posts From Someone Else

The blogosphere is filled with bloggers who publish inspirational material.

Therefore, make it a habit of yours to check out the blog posts of bloggers that inspire you.

If you have not found any blogger that inspired you as yet, I recommend using the WordPress Reader or your favourite search engine to come across one that inspires you.

A little inspiration goes a long way (And, that makes it vital in remaining motivated as a blogger).

5.) Rubbing Shoulders With Like-Minded Bloggers

One of the nice things about blogging is that like-minded bloggers tend to interact with each other; an example of this is bloggers who specialize in Linux supporting each other; which is done by reading each other’s blog posts, pressing the Like button and commenting on each other’s blog posts.

Rubbing shoulders with like-minded bloggers is a wonderful way to motivate oneself.

6.) Choosing An Appropriate Blogging Schedule

Unfortunately, there are bloggers who overwork themselves by publishing blog posts daily (For the record, I am not against any blogger for wanting to blog daily; truthfully, there are bloggers who publish content on their blogs daily without burning themselves out and there are bloggers who are unable to keep up the pace of blogging daily).

Dear friend, if you are one of the many bloggers who are unable to publish blog posts daily without experiencing mental and physical fatigue, you would be better off publishing content on your blog:

  • Weekly
  • Fortnightly
  • Monthly

In all honesty, you are supposed to know what you are capable of.

Therefore, the wise approach is to choose a blogging schedule that you are capable of maintaining.

Be sensible and use that energy of yours wisely!

Do keep in mind that it is extremely difficult for a blogger to remain motivated when they are burnt out.

7.) Ignoring The Trolls

Trolls have a way of frustrating bloggers (This is done by being rude and disrespectful via the comments section of the owner’s blog).

If you give in to the harassment of trolls, you will end up losing your motivation; which is why you are much better off ignoring them.

Bloggers can prevent trolls from polluting their comments thread by moderating their comments.

8.) Resisting The Urge To Look At Their Stats Every Minute

Bloggers who are just starting out should resist the urge to look at their stats every minute.

Because they are not going to like what they see.

It is common knowledge in the blogosphere, that it takes time for a blogger to build an audience.

Therefore, if your blog has little or no followers, your blog’s incoming traffic is going to be dismal.

In this case, newbie bloggers can remain motivated by knowing that their viewership will increase as time goes along.

9.) Refusing To Become Depressed Whenever Their Blog Loses A Few Followers

Where blogging is concerned, you will gain followers as well as lose followers.

It is natural for a blogger to be elated whenever he or she gains a new follower.

And, it is also natural for a blogger to be somewhat concerned whenever people unfollow their blog; they often wonder to themselves, “What did I do wrong?”

You are better off focusing your energies on the followers that you already have.

Also, if you continue filling your blog with the types of blog posts that you love, you will eventually attract new followers ― the type of people who will resonate well with the messages in your blog posts.

Being depressed over the loss of a follower or two is akin to crying over spilt milk!

10.) Working In A Smart Manner

One of the best ways for a blogger to remain motivated is for them to work in a smart manner.

An example of working in a smart manner is making the whole blogging process easier for yourself.

Therefore, if you are the type of person who is unable to create an entire blog post in one sitting, you can create it in chunks ― write a portion of it today and the rest of it tomorrow.

Wrapping Up

As you have learned, bloggers can remain motivated in 2022 by doing the following things:

  • Making it a priority of theirs to get lots of rest.
  • Publishing the types of blog posts that they are excited about.
  • Developing the habit of celebrating small wins.
  • Reading inspirational blog posts from other bloggers.
  • Rubbing shoulders with like-minded bloggers.
  • Choosing a blogging schedule that is most appropriate for them.
  • Blatantly ignoring the trolls.
  • Resisting the urge to look at their stats every minute.
  • Not succumbing to depression whenever their blog loses a few followers.
  • Working in a smart manner.

I truly hope that you found this blog post of mine inspiring.

Thank you for reading and I do look forward to having you here on Renard’s World in the near future.

  1. Thanks Renard. A few of these I know but there were a couple of new ones for me. I have saved this to keep looking at when I need reminding. I just received my first negative comment. Yes it hurts but it’s not worth dwelling on. We all have different opinions in this world and that’s fine. I just removed the comment and turned on the function to moderate all comments. I feel better already ☺️

  2. I’ve found that having a project to work on that might actually make a major difference, if widely discussed, is motivating enough.
Happy New Year, 12022 Holocene Era, Renard,

        1. 🙂 The name, “Moreau” was passed down from past generations and my mother named me, “Renard” because she studied the French language when she was in school and wanted a first name that would go well with my surname.

I have seen “Lupin” on Netflix (I enjoyed it).

In regards to you writing a review on the show, you should have an idea as to whether or not if it would be accepted nicely by your viewing audience.

However, if you really want to write a review on “Lupin” you should go for it!

          1. Ah, ok, sort of like my parents naming me “Destinie” and then being irritated when I change it to something simpler! 🙂
Oh, I have already written the first Lupin review, last Friday. My readers will need to expand their tastes!

  3. Particularly 2, 4 and 5 are golden protips!

Of course you should only post about stuff that excites, or at least interests you. Everything else would be a waste and amount to unpaid slave labour.

4 leads me directly to 5: Like Renard I’m a Linux user and propagator. So of course I read everything he, or others blog about Linux. No matter if we share the same standpoint, it’s inpiring to learn what other people think, and why. Often it leads to me writing something about the same topic in my blog.

    Win/Win! 🙂

  4. Hi Renard, Happy new year to you. 🎉🎉

I kept reading your posts when I was away from WordPress. They’re unbiased, well-formatted and detailed and written in a simple language, therefore, useful for me.

I had deleted my blog, to start a self-hosted blog. So, I researched hosting, domains, content, audience and essential knowledge to get helped.

    • But I do not have enough money to spend, especially for hosting.

    • I work via a smartphone. Its storage is limited. A device with more space and essential tools was my need.

    • My time and money efforts are likely to be a “one-time investment”. I do not have good knowledge so it was risky.

    • College studies are important to me. Utilising and managing time was a major challenge (you can’t expect to grow a web in a short time).

So I get back to my studies, attended classes, gave exams, and started learning more about Medium.

I wish to cover my day to day life and study expenditure. Medium saves my time, money and they have a humble community too.

But I missed my friends on WordPress and the joy of writing here. So I am restarting here, and I no regret starting again from 0.

Thank you for listening to me, and for your blogs. I wish you a healthy, happy and prosperous life this year. 🙂

  6. This year, I’d really like to do more of #5. Just having the comradery and fellowship of like-minded bloggers does so much to productivity, creativity, etc. It truly feels like we’re all cheering each other on and that I am not on this journey alone. Grateful for your post!

  7. Hello! I liked this post a lot and it definitely made me feel a little better about my current blog situation, but I have a question that no other blogger can seem to answer solidly… how can I make money doing this for a job?

  8. This was my first visit to your Blog, so a big thank you is in order for your well stated motivational tips. My first encounter with online writing came, believe it or not through MySpace back in 2005 when my daughter moved away and wanted to stay connected with family and friends. I discovered a liberating band of some of the most creative writers in that old time capsule. They opened my eyes, heart and mind to the human condition and the narrative of Humanity. Reading their stories, poems and online diaries was the catalyst that got me to dust off my “flipper fingers” and keyboard. At first I was intimidated by writers who had been at it for decades. My grammar wasn’t the best, nor was my ability to type, but my heart knew no boundaries. And so my new journey began and continues through today. I am grateful for my fellow scribes and their contributions to our rich and flavorful humanity soup! Write on!!
