There is nothing quite as sad as a blogger who has lost their way due to lack of motivation.
Unmotivated bloggers are known to:
- Blog sporadically.
- Take their blogs for granted.
- Delete those blogs of theirs.
Dear friend, one of the best ways of keeping your blog active is to remain motivated (And, today, I am going to tell you how you can make that possible).
1.) Getting Lots Of Rest
Some of you are probably thinking, “What does getting lots of rest have to do with remaining motivated?”
My answer to that question is “A lot!”
People who are well-rested do not suffer from severe burnout!
Also, an extremely tired person will not have blogging high on their list of priorities.
Therefore, getting lots of rest will work out in your favour.
It is no huge secret that you can think clearly for long periods of time when you are mentally refreshed (And, that is one of the reasons why some bloggers create the draft copies for their blog posts first thing in the morning).
One should never underestimate the power that a well-rested mind has.
2.) Publishing The Types Of Blog Posts That Excites Them
Another great way to remain motivated as a blogger is to publish the types of blog posts that excite you.
There is a very high probability of you putting together a blog post that you are highly excited about with ease.
Whereas, you would struggle like hell to put a blog post together that is based on something that you are not genuinely interested in.
So, if you have chosen a niche for your blog, be one hundred percent sure that it is one that excites every atom of your being (The same thing applies to bloggers who have chosen to go the miscellaneous route on their blogs).
3.) Celebrating Small Wins
Celebrating small wins is a fantastic way to remain motivated as a blogger.
Celebrating a small win is easy; all you have to do is:
- Celebrate whenever you have received incoming views to your blog (Whether it is a small or a large number).
- Celebrate whenever your blog receives comments in its commenting section.
- Celebrate whenever someone subscribes to your blog.
Hey, you might as well celebrate because the things that I have mentioned above are all indicators of your blog’s growth.
4.) Reading An Inspirational Blog Posts From Someone Else
The blogosphere is filled with bloggers who publish inspirational material.
Therefore, make it a habit of yours to check out the blog posts of bloggers that inspire you.
If you have not found any blogger that inspired you as yet, I recommend using the WordPress Reader or your favourite search engine to come across one that inspires you.
A little inspiration goes a long way (And, that makes it vital in remaining motivated as a blogger).
5.) Rubbing Shoulders With Like-Minded Bloggers
One of the nice things about blogging is that like-minded bloggers tend to interact with each other; an example of this is bloggers who specialize in Linux supporting each other; which is done by reading each other’s blog posts, pressing the Like button and commenting on each other’s blog posts.
Rubbing shoulders with like-minded bloggers is a wonderful way to motivate oneself.
6.) Choosing An Appropriate Blogging Schedule
Unfortunately, there are bloggers who overwork themselves by publishing blog posts daily (For the record, I am not against any blogger for wanting to blog daily; truthfully, there are bloggers who publish content on their blogs daily without burning themselves out and there are bloggers who are unable to keep up the pace of blogging daily).
Dear friend, if you are one of the many bloggers who are unable to publish blog posts daily without experiencing mental and physical fatigue, you would be better off publishing content on your blog:
- Weekly
- Fortnightly
- Monthly
In all honesty, you are supposed to know what you are capable of.
Therefore, the wise approach is to choose a blogging schedule that you are capable of maintaining.
Be sensible and use that energy of yours wisely!
Do keep in mind that it is extremely difficult for a blogger to remain motivated when they are burnt out.
7.) Ignoring The Trolls
Trolls have a way of frustrating bloggers (This is done by being rude and disrespectful via the comments section of the owner’s blog).
If you give in to the harassment of trolls, you will end up losing your motivation; which is why you are much better off ignoring them.
Bloggers can prevent trolls from polluting their comments thread by moderating their comments.
8.) Resisting The Urge To Look At Their Stats Every Minute
Bloggers who are just starting out should resist the urge to look at their stats every minute.
Why?
Because they are not going to like what they see.
It is common knowledge in the blogosphere, that it takes time for a blogger to build an audience.
Therefore, if your blog has little or no followers, your blog’s incoming traffic is going to be dismal.
In this case, newbie bloggers can remain motivated by knowing that their viewership will increase as time goes along.
9.) Refusing To Become Depressed Whenever Their Blog Loses A Few Followers
Where blogging is concerned, you will gain followers as well as lose followers.
It is natural for a blogger to be elated whenever he or she gains a new follower.
And, it is also natural for a blogger to be somewhat concerned whenever people unfollow their blog; they often wonder to themselves, “What did I do wrong?”
You are better off focusing your energies on the followers that you already have.
Also, if you continue filling your blog with the types of blog posts that you love, you will eventually attract new followers ― the type of people who will resonate well with the messages in your blog posts.
Being depressed over the loss of a follower or two is akin to crying over spilt milk!
10.) Working In A Smart Manner
One of the best ways for a blogger to remain motivated is for them to work in a smart manner.
An example of working in a smart manner is making the whole blogging process easier for yourself.
Therefore, if you are the type of person who is unable to create an entire blog post in one sitting, you can create it in chunks ― write a portion of it today and the rest of it tomorrow.
Wrapping Up
As you have learned, bloggers can remain motivated in 2022 by doing the following things:
- Making it a priority of theirs to get lots of rest.
- Publishing the types of blog posts that they are excited about.
- Developing the habit of celebrating small wins.
- Reading inspirational blog posts from other bloggers.
- Rubbing shoulders with like-minded bloggers.
- Choosing a blogging schedule that is most appropriate for them.
- Blatantly ignoring the trolls.
- Resisting the urge to look at their stats every minute.
- Not succumbing to depression whenever their blog loses a few followers.
- Working in a smart manner.
I truly hope that you found this blog post of mine inspiring.

I like these two:
Making it a priority of theirs to get lots of rest.
Publishing the types of blog posts that they are excited about.
The first one is certainly right. I like to write with a cup of coffee, no matter what kind of writing, be it academic or blogging.
The second one is also certainly right. I always write about something in my life. That’s what keeps me motivated to come back to write and reflect, despite the challenge to gain more readership.
