memories and dreams lay in confusion

air gelid, lifeless and assaulting

amiss, amiss, a stymied world

its capture a mystery

mankind vulnerable

and in a dark place

feeling threatened





yes, hope

driving life

dreams, with passion

and the willingness

to conquer with vigor

to heal grieving hearts and souls

replenish creativity

renew memories and dreams of yore

and combine the past with the new normal

This poem is written using the poetry form, Etheree*. I’ve written a double Etheree beginning with feelings of frustration in the first ten lines and ending with feelings of hope in the second ten lines. My poem is a reflection of these difficult times. Stay safe! Stay healthy!

I enjoyed a dedicated career in the insurance industry for over 20 years being rewarded both professionally and personally.
