5 Reason Why I Love Blogging

Last updated on December 25th, 2019

To be quite honest with you, I have been blogging longer than I can actually remember (If I were to make an educated guess, I would say that I began somewhere around 2009 on Blogger).

A part of me believes that I was born to blog (And, I would speculate that anyone who is in love with blogging would probably feel the same way as I do).

When one is willing to push television-viewing aside with the intentions of catching up on blogging, you know without a doubt that they are in love with blogging.

Today, I felt inspired to share with you some reasons why I love blogging.

So, without further ado, let us dive into those reasons.

1.) I Enjoy Interacting With All Types Of People

One of the nice things about blogging is that you are guaranteed to come across some very interesting people β€” people with all types of personalities.

Luckily, I have not encountered any trolls (And, I really have zero intentions of encountering a troll on my blog).

The good news is that the blogosphere is filled with lots of wonderful people β€” people with fantastic blogs of their own (And, you probably know by now that I enjoy reading their content and leaving them insightful comments in the comments thread of their blogs).

Some newbie bloggers have stated that they are afraid of interacting with other bloggers, because they are not too sure how those bloggers are going to perceive them.

The truth is that they will never know until they interact with other bloggers.

At the moment, I am looking for a blog that is run by a very crazy blogger; preferably one who is polite (By the way, if you know where I can locate some of those types of blogs, please let me know where I can find them).

The truth is that life can never be boring when you are constantly interacting with people (There are various personalities to enjoy; somewhat similar to the colours of the rainbow or various flavours of ice cream).

Do you enjoy interacting with all types of people?

2.) There Is Always Something New To Learn

The state of blogging never stands still; it is always evolving.

I am always catching up on the following things:

  • The latest developments in the area of SEO (search engine optimisation) and the ways to implement it with my blog.
  • The various methods that are used to promote one’s blog.
  • The hidden secrets of the WordPress Editor.
  • The various Google algorithm updates.

Okay, those are just some of the things that I enjoy learning.

And, for the record, I do not know everything (I would be lying to you if I said to you that I did).

Recently, I found out that Vivaldi (the company that is well-known for their web browser) has its very own blogging community (Which I think is pretty cool).

Learning is fun!

Do you enjoy learning?

3.) I Enjoy Using Blogging As A Medium For Self-Expression

Blogging is one of the perfect ways of showcasing one’s talent.

Anyone can use blogging to publish the following types of blog posts:

  • Music
  • Recipes
  • Poetry
  • Art
  • Fashion
  • Social commentary
  • Blogging tips
  • Movie reviews
  • Book reviews

Those are some of the things that people post via their blogs.

By the way, what are some of the things that you enjoy posting on your own blog?

4.) It Allows Me To Indulge In Things Of A Controversial Nature

I love controversy.

Do you love controversy?

I have a very strong feeling that everyone appreciates a bit of controversy once in a while.

Back in July 2018, I posted a controversial piece called, I Finally Deactivated My Facebook Account (In it, I mentioned the reason why I deactivated my Facebook account and in it I also let people know how I felt about Facebook).

As a matter of fact, WordPress is filled with lots of controversial blog posts from other bloggers from around the world.

Do you ever publish blog posts of a controversial nature?

5.) I Get The Opportunity To Cheer Other Bloggers On

I like welcoming new bloggers to WordPress; I usually tell them about the wonderful WordPress.com community that they are now a part of and I also encourage them to blog.

There are bloggers who need others to cheer them on (Especially, those bloggers who started blogging recently).

You probably know by now that I hate to see abandon blogs.

So, if I can encourage bloggers to keep on blogging, there is a high possibility that the majority of them will stick with their blog.

When I first started blogging, there was no one to cheer me on.

Back then, my blog on Blogger was like a proverbial ghost-town (No one interacted with me for the first few months of my blog’s existence).

In regards to WordPress.com, bloggers can locate numerous blogs via the WordPress.com Reader.

And, I am bewildered as to the reason why any blogger in their right frame of mind would want to go back to blogging on Blogger (Oh yes, there were a handful of people who mentioned in their last WordPress blog post that they were going back to Blogger and one of the main reasons for them leaving WordPress was because no one interacted with them).

The truth is that there are bloggers who need a bit of encouragement to blog; they need to know that there are people within their very own blogging community who care about them.

Believe it or not, I want to see all bloggers succeed.

I would never get jealous of a blogger who received more likes or more comments on their blog posts than I.

I am beyond the pettiness.

I adhere to the belief that we should lift others up and not pull them down.

The newbie bloggers are counting on us (the veteran bloggers) for support.

Do you like cheering other bloggers on?

Final Thoughts

So, now you have a better idea as to the reasons why I love blogging.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the bloggers who supported Renard’s World.

I hereby promise to continue supporting my fellow bloggers on WordPress.com.

And, thank you for reading!

  1. Reading your posts mentioning Blogger takes me back. I signed up for Blogger in 2003, transferred to WordPress in 2006, and have been with WP ever since. For me, blogging is my creative outlet.

  2. Blogging since 2009 is marvelous ☺ you are doing very well by not giving up and hopefully I don’t 😁. My blog is controversial sometimes which I love, i learn a lot from my own blog especially from comments I receive. Guess what? TV is my best friend, I’m sorry I can’t push it aside for blogging but maybe just for a few hours but not for long, TV inspires me and i keep up with it when I’m not making money. I would confess that blogging is my passion and a place for me to express myself and speak to the world 😁. The downside of the whole blogging thing I noticed recently is that people would rather tick ‘like’ than actually read a post. Some people don’t even know what they want from blogging, some just want likes and followers so this makes me wonder what is going on. Also some people will read the first or last paragraph and comment on it, not realising that there is more in the second and next paragraph and completely missing the whole point of the post. Great postπŸ’ž

  3. A we newbies thank you so much for all your encouragement, advice, and support. It was the first thing that struck me when I started blogging and is so appreciated with all there is to learn. But I absolutely love it too πŸ˜„ wishing you the happiest New Year 🌈

  4. I was going to repeat, to you, which reasons were true, for me, by the particular number. Then I realized that they all fit the reasons why I blog, too (and, I also do so for my family).

  5. I love writing which is why I started blogging but sometimes content is an issue… I still enjoy the feeling of community even if I don’t post anything. Thank you for your thoughts!

  6. I’ve been blogging for at least 15 years. I enjoy blogging, but I get discouraged because I put way more into it than I get out of it. For some reason, no matter how hard I try, my blog seems to be in the Twilight Zone. But I love to create and posting my creations whether or not anyone clicks the like button and whether or not I receive encouraging comments. So there you have it, Renard. A long-time discouraged blogger that refuses to quit.

    1. πŸ™‚ Well, it is nice to see that you are still at it for fifteen years.

This year (2020), it is going to be my eleventh year blogging.

I have learned a lot about blogging during my time (And, that is mainly because I was eager to learn all I can about blogging).

So, I am living proof that anyone is capable of attracting a viewing audience and having a successful blog.

Maybe, it is time for you to finetune your blogging technique a bit.

The manner in which I created content back in 2009 is not the same as I do today.

Do enjoy the rest of your day, Sandi.

      1. Thanks for your reply, Renard. I have changed things up a bit (I have 3 blogs, by the way, one for writing and poetry and the other two for digital art). I enjoy all three, but my writing blog gets the most traffic. I read your blog and it has helped me to see and better understand the blogging world. Thanks for your help and guidance along my blogging journey.
