Why Are You Following My Blog?

question-mark
Question Mark

For the record, I am deeply appreciative of all of my followers (The genuine ones, of course).

Having followers will make any blogger feel as though they have not wasted their time publishing blog posts in the blogosphere.

However, followers are human beings and some of them are genuine, while there is a portion of them with some type of hidden agenda.

Have you ever thought about the reasons why people have followed your blog?

Well, I have and that is the reason why I have asked, “Why are you following my blog?”

And, most of you who have followed my blog and are reading this, will no doubt, tell me the reasons why you have chosen to follow Renard’s World.

So, let us get down to business!

You Have A Genuine Interest In The Topics That I Post

From a logical perspective, it would be crazy of you to follow a blog that you are not interested in. So, I can safely say, “You enjoy the topics that I post here on Renard’s World.”

Those of you who have been following this blog from day one would know that I have ventured deeply into:

  • Blogging tips.
  • Social media.
  • Technologically-related things; such as operating systems, computers, tablets and smartphones.

Now, those are the topics that I post mostly on my blog; but do keep in mind, that this is not a blog that specializes in a niche; it is one that deals with topics of a miscellaneous nature (Which is the reason why the tagline for Renard’s World is: My Personal Space On The Web To Post Anything That Tickles My Fancy).

As a matter of fact, this is my blog; therefore, I will continue to publish content based on the things that I am genuinely interested in.

I truly hope that you are the type of blogger who has a genuine interest in the topics that I post.

You Followed Me With The Hopes Of I Following You

To be most honest with you, I am not interested in the “You follow me and I follow you back” game.

The only reason why I am going to follow your blog is if it contains topics that I am interested in (Luckily, a lot of you dealt with topics that I am genuinely interested in).

I would like all bloggers to know, that I do not follow others blindly.

Also, it makes no sense following my blog if you have no intentions of reading any of my articles.

Please note, that although it is nice to have a large following, it is better to have followers that actually interact with you.

It is ridiculous to have thousands of followers when in reality, only a small portion of them interact with you (It is sad when the majority of a person’s followers is actually made up of proverbial dead weight).

You Followed Me With The Hopes Of Me Buying Something From You

There are a large number of business-related blogs that follow Renard’s World (Now, I am okay with that provided that those bloggers are genuinely interested in my blog).

Other bloggers become highly suspicious whenever they see that they are followed by business-related blogs.

Why?

Because they believe that those people want to sell them their products.

Now, hats off to those people who have chosen to make a living off of blogging by selling their products online.

And, even though those people may view me as a potential customer, I am not going to buy anything from them that is unneeded.

So, good luck to you if you followed me with the hopes of me buying something from you.

You Are Eager To See What I Will Post Next

Now, in spite of planning out my topics in advance, there are those moments when I will scrap the entire project and create something entirely new at the last minute (Therefore, in situations like those, we are both eager to see what it is that I am going to post next).

Besides, we are all eager to find out what it is that those people whom we are following are going to post next.

If you are one of those people who followed Renard’s World because you were eager to find out what it is that I am going to post next, you are going to be pleasantly surprised (I never fail to deliver).

Well, thank you for following my blog if you possess that genuine desire to find out what it is that I am going to post next.

You Always Learn Something New Whenever You Read My Blog Posts

It is no huge secret, that I enjoy passing on the things that I have learned about blogging to other bloggers.

Bloggers of all levels (whether they are newcomers to blogging, at an intermediary stage of blogging or advanced bloggers) have mentioned to me that they always learn something new whenever they read my blog posts.

Truthfully speaking, it is always a great honour to be of service to my blogging community.

And, I am going to do my best in the area of disseminating useful knowledge; that way, people will always continue to learn something new.

Were you one of those people who started following my blog because you learned something new whenever you read my blog posts?

You Love My Friendly Personality

Most bloggers would quicker liaise with bloggers that possessed a friendly personality (Mainly because of the fact, that a person with a friendly personality is not viewed as intimidating).

I am known for engaging in the following type of behaviour:

  • Encouraging bloggers to stick with their blogs and not give up blogging.
  • Reading the blog posts of my fellow bloggers.
  • Leaving valuable comments in the comments section of my fellow bloggers.
  • Welcoming new bloggers to the blogosphere and wishing them all the best with their blog.

Hey, people adore bloggers with a friendly personality (And, you have the potential of making leaps and bounds in the blogosphere by being genuinely friendly).

  1. More followers more interaction… But I confess that if I hv 1000 followers, I can’t interact with all of them in a week due to lack of time… But still everyone hv unique thoughts.. I want to read all those unique thoughts

    1. 🙂 Tansuri, more followers would usually lead to more interaction. However, not everyone publishes content on their blog in the same manner. Some people will post content on their blog daily, others will post a few times a week, etcetera.

Also, all of one’s followers are not going to be online at the same time.

I also agree that it is somewhat difficult to interact with a large number of followers in a week’s time.

In my case, I try to interact with those who show up on my WordPress Reader.

It is nice to know that you are genuinely interested in everyone’s unique thoughts.

Thank you so kindly for reading and commenting!

  2. I love to follow your blog because when I have time to read your posts they are so nice and easy to read, you have a beautiful and positive way of writing, plus you always share some very useful tips and ideas to learn from. Unfortunately, I still haven’t found a way to balance my Art life and blogging so I feel I am still a work in progress but with lots of hopes!! Happy Sunday and Easter if you celebrate!

  3. I would say all the reasons you suggested in the article apply to some degree. As a former writing teacher, I love to read well-written things and you know how to write really well. I also would love to have somebody… anybody really, buy and read one of my books. But even though I started blogging at the command of a publisher, I really have developed a love for blogging, and you give excellent advice about that topic.

      1. Thanks. But it took readers decades to find and read Franz Kafka and HP Lovecraft. They both died before they found readers. And I am old and ill. Sometimes you have to settle for whatever the future holds.

  4. Hello there, I’m new to your blog, and I appreciate everything you’ve written so far. I’ve seen you comment on some other posts and it was thoughtful and encouraging. I look forward to reading future thoughts when I can!🙂

  5. I’m half tempted to follow your blog just for this post alone! It pretty much sums up my own thoughts on the subject. I admit I’ve checked out some of the people who followed my blog and wondered Why? I can’t see anything at all that we have in common, or even why the most recent post might have appealed to them. So, probably buried in there somewhere is the “I follow you, you follow me back” sentiment. If someone follows me or comments, I will go check out their blog, but unless I think I’m going to be interested in their posts on an ongoing basis, I won’t follow them. That’s not meant as a slight to anyone – I just don’t have time to wade through blog posts that don’t interest me.

I hope others find something useful on my blog, and like yours, it is a mishmash – anything that strikes my fancy at any given moment is fair game. But I’m also fine if someone wants to Like something but not follow me or comment. Sometimes you just like that one post and you don’t really have anything pertinent to say about it.

I think maybe I’m too easygoing to be a serious blogger, to tell the truth!

  7. I liked the tips shared by you. But only I often stuck up following the bloggers back who are following you. As have experienced many bloggers following are only there who want increase there number of followers and not in reading content. There are many sites when you click are shown site deleted and related link is not there.
Not necessary the blog might of your taste of reading.

  8. I’m finding your blog really useful and informative 😊 I like that your blogging advice is from an honest, open and genuine point of view – it’s not all about monetising and empty tactics. It’s also very helpful the way you respond to comments – you seem like a nice guy 😁
