Currently, there are a lot of newbie bloggers (and veteran bloggers too) who worry about what other people think about them.
By the way, are you one of those bloggers?
If you have answered, “Yes, ” I want you to know that worrying about what other people think about you is an absolute waste of your time.
And, why is it that worrying about what other people think about you is a waste of your time?
Because it is not possible to please everyone.
In reality, the things that you post on your blog is not going to resonate with everyone.
Dear friend, this is the truth:
- Some people are going to dislike your blog posts.
- Some people are going to love your blog posts.
- Some people are going to remain neutral towards your blog posts.
The most important thing is publishing the things on your blog that resonates well with you.
And, if you have answered, “No, ” you might as well give yourself a proverbial pat on the back because you are already aware of the fact that it is impossible to please everyone.
So, my friend, you might as well be a brave blogger and do you.
Know That You Are One Of A Kind
In spite of having similarities, we are all unique.
Some of us might be able to sing (Some better than others, while there are some who cannot sing at all).
Anyway, the same thing applies to our unique talents.
Hey, you know what you are capable of and it would be great if you highlighted your special talent via your blog.
If you possess the talent for cooking, you can share your mouth-watering recipes via your blog.
If you are fantastic at writing poetry, you can showcase it on your blog.
And, if you are superb at teaching people things, you can also teach your viewing audience how to accomplish a specific task via a blog post of yours.
Dear friend, you are one of a kind, because of the fact, that no one else on the face of the Earth can truly do things exactly the way that you execute them.
Therefore, be proud of the fact that you are one of a kind (And since you are one of a kind, you might as well do whatever it is that you do bravely).
Be Honest About How You Feel
Brave bloggers are not afraid to let others know how they feel about a topic.
As a matter of fact, being honest about how you feel is an authentic move on your behalf (And, it is an intrepid move too).
For the record, you are free to tell others how you feel without the use of profanity.
People will respect you for telling them how you really feel about a topic.
Out of sheer honesty and bravery, I published, 10 Things That Annoy Bloggers, back in August 2018.
So, do not be hesitant to publish an article that is based on an issue of yours because it lets your viewing audience know how you really feel about it.
Besides, what is the sense of having a blog if you are afraid to express the way that you actually feel?
Manage Your Blog Well
The God’s/Goddess’s truth is that anyone can start a blog, but it takes bravery and skill to manage one’s blog well.
Managing one’s blog will involve the following things:
- Knowing fully well what your blog is all about.
- Knowing how often you intend to update your blog; whether it be daily, a few days a week, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, etcetera.
- Knowing which social media networks that you intend to promote the links to your blog posts on; whether it be Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Mix, etcetera.
Hey, when it comes to managing one’s blog well, bravery is a requirement.
Are you a brave soul?
Be Committed To Your Blog
Now, being fully committed to your blog does not mean that you are going to neglect the other aspects of your life; such as your job, family, friends and chores at your home with the intentions of getting your quota of blogging done.
However, being fully committed to your blog entails finding the time to blog in spite of your busy lifestyle.
And, it takes a dauntless individual to come up with an effective time management technique β one that actually works.
Dear friend, your desire to blog will slowly (or rapidly) fade away if you are not committed to it (And, that could lead to blog abandonment).
Also, too many bloggers give up on their blogs because they have not seen the results that they expected within a particular timeframe.
Believe it or not, some people had to wait as long as two years before they could witness the desired results (Which was a huge boost of incoming traffic to their blog, a larger number of followers and an increased number of likes).
It is a sad fact, that there is a large percentage of people who are deeply afraid of failing at blogging (Ironically, they end up giving up in the early stages of their blogging journey).
Dear friend, be brave-hearted and be committed to your blog because it will allow you to witness the desired results with your own eyes in the near future.
Therefore, be committed to your blog and never lose that sense of commitment.
Interact With Your Blogging Community
Brave bloggers are never hesitant to interact with their blogging community. They are usually the ones who leave thoughtful comments in the comments section of other people’s blogs.
And, most importantly, brave bloggers understand the importance of an active blogging community.
Currently, there are lots of shy bloggers in the blogosphere β the self-conscious type that worries about what others think about them (And, as a result of this self-imposed affliction, they are somewhat terrified of interacting with their fellow bloggers).
Shy bloggers should know, that the blogging community is comprised of friendly and supportive bloggers.
In reality, they can only experience the benefits of interacting with their blogging community by being brave.
Cowardice holds you back; which is why you must rid yourself of it!
Final Thoughts
Brave bloggers can accomplish a lot of great things.
So, wouldn’t it be in your best interest to be a brave blogger?
The answer to that question is an unequivocal, “Yes!”
If you are the shy type of blogger, I highly recommend that you do whatever it takes to get out of your proverbial shell.
And, if you are already a brave blogger, use your influence wisely; such as in the case of:
- Inspiring other bloggers via your blog posts.
- Cheering on their fellow bloggers whenever their blogging anniversary comes along.
- Supporting their fellow bloggers by reading their blog posts and by leaving them meaningful comments in the comments section of their blogs.
- Being a figurative beacon of light to bloggers; especially those bloggers who are thinking about giving up on their blogs.
Brave bloggers can make a difference.
Also, the blogosphere is always in need of brave bloggers.
As always, thank you for reading and I hereby invite you to check out Renard’s World at a time that is most convenient for you.
Wonderful tips. Yes we all need to be brave to blog. Sharing our feelings, views and opinions about various subjects can sometimes bring harsh criticism. But one thing I want to add to the list. Having the support of a strong person or strong support of a person close to us can make us brave too! I hope I made some sense! π

π Brandi, I make sacrifices; an example being: not watching any sort of television until I am finished with my blog posts.
If people can make the time to watch television, they can certainly find the time to blog.
Thank you for your participation!

Another well-written post, Renard.
Most of my blog posts are book reviews, and it was certainly difficult posting my first negative one. I didn’t want to risk a backlash and perhaps losing some of my followers for trashing their favourite novel, but at the same time I realised that I didn’t want to be a part of a community where negativity is forbidden.
I’m glad I posted that negative review, I had a much better response than I had predicted, which has given me more confidence going forward.

By the way, I found your comment in the spam section and I had to click on “Not Spam”.
I suggest that you look into this because your comments could be ending up in the spam section of other bloggers (And, that would be very bad).

Thanks for the heads up Renard. Would you have any suggestions as to where I should start to look?

π Well, you could write a blog post about it and ask your followers if your comments are heading in their spam section.
If it happens to be a problem, you will have to get in contact with Akismet (Which is part of the Automattic family).

This really goes along with something you wrote a few weeks back about WHY one is blogging. If you’re expecting to get famous from it, then you’re going to lose interest when it doesn’t happen, I think.
I try to challenge myself with what I write for the blog, and there seem to be people along for the ride. And that is really good enough for me!

This is the best blog post I have read that you have written. It taught me me that I really need to read more of your stuff. It is all brilliant. As for me I am not a brave blogger. I write now because I have to. I am old and ill and nearing the end. And as a former school teacher, I have a lot of Truth left over in my reservoir that is topping the dam and forcing the restraints to release. I was a writing teacher and I can tell you that in my professional opinion, you are an excellent writer, and your writing advice is worth a fortune.

Hi Renard. I’m a somewhat shy blogger (or blogger wannabe maybe) but I’m striving towards being the brave blogger.. I’m now trying to stop worrying about what people think and I plan to start a new personal-ish blog soon. I started blogging ages ago and although I haven’t kept going all the time I’ve continued being interested in blogs and blogging because of the possibility to connect with people through blogs – or it used to be that way.

I love this post. I consider myself to be a brave blogger; I don’t care what people think and I am as honest as I can when I write. Whether people like it or not is none of my business. I probably maintain my blog to much lol; I post quite a bit because it’s beneficial to me and I hope others benefit from reading it as well. It’s funny I feel really confident as write because I have gotten a lot of encouragement and yet I lack the confidence in real life; not sure why. And I have been blessed because I rarely get negative feedback on my blog and if I do; I don’t pay it any mind. I think you are right; having a blog means having patience and faith that your blog will grow in time. I am glad I stopped by your page today and appreciate how encouraging you are. Take care, my friend

Iβd like to think of myself as a brave blogger on most days. But like as you said some bloggers do have bad days as well.
So what gives me strength to continue on? Reading inspirational blogs like yours that spark some creative juices in me. And the other is the fact that blogging and the community around it became such a great comfort in times when I need it most.
So yes, I definitely like to think of myself as a brave blogger π

However, once I made the leap and started putting myself out there more, I discovered that this community is amazing! So supportive and welcoming! I’m not sure if I’m a brave blogger, but I’m definitely a braver blogger than I was! And hopefully will get braver as time goes by π Thanks for sharing your thoughts – I’ve just discovered your blog and I look forward to reading more of your work π

To what extent is blogging about blogging like talking about writing without really doing any?

π€ To be most straightforward, blogging is action-oriented. Therefore, in the case of composing articles, writing is required. Talking about it and not posting about it is a form of procrastination.
