Renard’s World Sees Its First Month

It is amazing how quickly time flies.

When I looked at the calendar, I said to myself, “Wow! Renard’s World is actually one month old!”

I remembered deleting my old blog on Blogger and hustling to create my first blog post for Renard‘s World (I ended up posting two of them on Friday the 15th of June, 2018; they were: I Am Back With WordPress and 6 Crazy Things That Bloggers Do).

So far, my WordPress journey has been a wonderful one.

I Only Wanted To Do My Best

I decided that Renard’s World would highlight my writing.

I also wanted this blog of mine to be better than my previous blogs (I knew that it would require coming up with superb content on a regular basis).

I did set the bar very high; things that would have made its way on my old blog were not posted on Renard’s World (And, that is because of genuinely wanting to create blog posts of a very high standard).

There is an old adage that states, “If you are doing something, you might as well do it to the best of your ability.”

Besides, my viewing audience deserves the best!

Therefore, I will not sully the reputation of my blog with mediocre blog posts.

I Wanted To Share What I Learned About Blogging

I am one of those people who believe in passing on what they have learned.

Also, it makes no sense at all keeping all of the knowledge that I have acquired on blogging to myself.

Newbie bloggers needed help and I chose to help them out with their blogging issues free of charge.

By the way, there is nothing wrong with a blogger wanting to sell an e-book with their blogging secrets (As a matter of fact, I wish those bloggers all of the best, because they are actually helping out their blogging community and they are also making an additional income via the sales of their e-book).

I also knew, that there were lots of bloggers who are unable to purchase an e-book on blogging due to having very little money in their bank accounts.

And, I have no regrets of sharing freely with others what I have learned about blogging.

Renard’s World Is So Much More

For the record, Renard’s World is not solely based on blogging tips.

Renard’s World is, a blog that deals with miscellaneous topics; some of you would have guessed that by looking at my blog’s tagline; which states, My Personal Space On The Web To Post Anything That Tickles My Fancy.

In addition to blogging tips, I have covered:

  • People
  • Social media
  • Electronics
  • Psychology

In the future, I plan on expanding on the range of topics.

A blog that deals with miscellaneous topics is best for me, because I would become bored if I were to stick to a single niche.

Also, boxing me in a niche would stifle my creativity.

One of the nice things about running a personal blog is, having the freedom to publish any topic that I am interested in.

I Enjoy Interacting With My Fellow Bloggers

Blogging requires more than simply publishing a blog post; a person needs to interact with other bloggers from within their own blogging community and in my case, that can be accomplished by:

  • Reading the blog posts from my fellow bloggers.
  • Leaving meaningful comments in the comments thread of my fellow bloggers.
  • Replying to the comments on my blog that were made by my fellow bloggers.
  • Interacting with my fellow bloggers on Twitter.

It really puzzles me when a blogger sets up a blog and refuses to interact with their blogging community.

Now, if I were to ask you, “Do you like interacting with the people within your blogging community?” You would would most likely say, “Yes!”

In reality, no man (or woman) is an island and in regards to blogging, they would not reach far without the help of their blogging community.

Can I Make It Through To One Year?

Honestly, I would be very delighted the day Renard’s World makes it through to one year (It would be fun to see a notification from WordPress wishing me a happy first blogoversary).

Unfortunately, a lot of bloggers are not devoted to their blogs (It is easy for those types of bloggers to lose interest in blogging).

Some bloggers would start a blog today and two weeks from now, their blog is abandoned.

Anyway, I believe that I possess the discipline to keep Renard’s World up and running (Provided I am still alive; when I kick the proverbial bucket, this blog will end with my departure from this physical plane of existence).

I Do Hope That The WordPress Mobile App Improves

In my blog post, My Blogging Experience On A Smartphone, I mentioned that I was displeased with the WordPress Mobile App, because it lacked the word count feature and I had to access WordPress via my smartphone’s browser in order to have access to the word count feature.

Another weird thing with the WordPress Mobile App is, whenever I have dealt with the notifications on my smartphone and I visit WordPress on my laptop computer, the notifications appear as though they were not looked into and I have to go about checking them for a second time.

Should I ignore all of the WordPress notifications on my smartphone and simply deal with them on my laptop computer?

As a matter of fact, that is nothing new; the same thing transpired with the notifications back in 2012 (during the period of my first WordPress blog) and it is still happening in 2018.

Despite the craziness with the WordPress Mobile App, I plan on installing it on a tablet computer (I will have to get myself a tablet computer in order for that to happen).

If I can compose a draft on a smartphone, I should be able to do it with ease on a tablet computer.

Final Thoughts

Although I am not at surprised, that my blog, Renard’s World survived its first month in the blogosphere, I would like to say, “Thank you,” to everyone who supported my blog.

I hereby pledge, to continue creating high-quality content for you to peruse.

I will also continue to support my beloved fellow bloggers.

I might as well thank the Happiness Engineers for a job well-done (WordPress would not function smoothly without those hard working people).

And, as always, thank you for reading!

  1. I have the WordPress app on both my iPhone and Samsung tablet as well as a laptop. The iPhone app is by far the most restrictive. My next phone won’t be an iPhone!
I enjoy your blog, even if I don’t utilise all the information it gives me the option to make choices and that’s a huge benefit! I’m very glad you’re here 😊

    1. 🙂 Thank you for the kind sentiments.

Hmm. You told me that the WordPress App for the iPhone is restrictive.

Now, I was thinking about getting an iPad for blogging, but if the WordPress app is restrictive on an iPhone, it might be restrictive on an iPad (After all, it’s Apple)!

      1. Yes the app is the same on both. I have a Samsung galaxy 10” tablet that I love way more than I did my old iPad. I’ll be switching to a Samsung phone next time too. I find more more innovative and just the difference in the WordPress app utilities between both has been an eye opener.
